2026 onward: reported new cases

The health chart, latest-value card, date selector and CSV export include observations from 1 January 2026 onward. Earlier records are excluded from this view, and custom dates before 2026 are rejected. The selected metric is WHO-reported new cases only.

WHO described reports of suspected pneumonic plague and said it had requested further information. WHO’s briefing also said Russia reported no plague case had recently been reported in Irkutsk, while WHO sought test results and other details. The briefing did not publish a confirmed case count. WHO COVID-19 weekly statistical release

WHO supplies weekly new and cumulative cases and deaths, primarily laboratory-confirmed, with national differences. This dashboard keeps countries separate. Missing observations remain missing; negative values are corrections. We do not derive new cases from cumulative totals or calculate population rates without a compatible denominator.

WHO Disease Outbreak News

Official notices are checked every six hours and displayed as attributed titles, dates and original links; article bodies are not republished. The plague option is reports-only and filtered to 2026 onward. WHO's 7 October 2026 Irkutsk briefing describes an investigation and request for information; it does not provide a confirmed count. Suspected, probable and confirmed cases are never merged into a daily chart.

Charts and news read server-side snapshots. Provider requests have timeouts, bounded retries, fixed endpoints and overlap locks. Failed downloads preserve the last successful data and mark it stale. Changes to numeric observations retain revision history. No provider API keys are sent to browsers.

Watchlists and appearance preferences are saved only in this browser. No registration or advertising trackers are used.
